The Office of Emergency Management acts as a coordinating agency among municipal, state and federal governments. The office instructs local officials on how to establish an Emergency Operations Plan. The office then reviews that plan and refers it to the NJ State Police Office of Emergency Management for approval. The office helps coordinate responses to local disasters once municipal mutual aid resources are exhausted. Municipal applications for state or federal disaster aid are filed through the Emergency Management Office.
