Tax Collector


In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 54:4-64, the first half taxes of any year are on the basis of half the taxes of the preceding year.

The Collector of Taxes is responsible for the billing and collection of taxes only.

WHEN OWNERSHIP OF THE PROPERTY CHANGES, THE TAX BILL IS TO BE FORWARDED TO THE NEW OWNER(S) OR THEIR PAYING AGENT.

Tax payments due dates:
Quarterly payments become due on
August 1 st
November 1 st
February 1 st  
May 1 st .

NO CASH ACCEPTED, only checks.

Interest:
Any delinquency is subject to interest at the rate of 8% per annum on the first $ 1,500.00 and 18% per annum for any amount over $ 1,500.00 retroactive to the first of the month.

A year end penalty of 6% will be charged for any delinquency in excess of $ 10,000.00.

Real Estate Taxes can be advertised for sale after November 11th  of the current year.

Receipts:
Remittances requiring receipt must be accompanied by the entire tax bill  with a self addressed stamped envelope . Otherwise detach the appropriate stub and mail with your check – the cancelled check will be your receipt.
