COVID-19 NOTICE: Mayor and Council Fixes The Rate Of Interest To Be Charged For Non-Payment Of Property Taxes, Assessments Or Municipal Liens For Entire Month of May. As per Resolution No. 2020-69, all second quarter tax payments due May 1st that is considered "delinquent" after the May 10th grace period will have no financial penalty (0% interest) through May 31st.
In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 54:4-64, the first half taxes of any year are on the basis of half the taxes of the preceding year.
The Collector of Taxes is responsible for the billing and collection of taxes only.

WHEN OWNERSHIP OF THE PROPERTY CHANGES, THE TAX BILL IS TO BE FORWARDED TO THE NEW OWNER(S) OR THEIR PAYING AGENT.

NO CASH ACCEPTED, only checks.
Any delinquency is subject to interest at the rate of 8% per annum on the first $ 1,500.00 and 18% per annum for any amount over $ 1,500.00 retroactive to the first of the month.
A year end penalty of 6% will be charged for any delinquency in excess of $ 10,000.00.
Real Estate Taxes can be advertised for sale after November 11 th of the current year.
Remittances requiring receipt must be accompanied by the entire tax bill with a self addressed stamped envelope . Otherwise detach the appropriate stub and mail with your check – the cancelled check will be your receipt.
